- You are TOO focused on the outcome of your inspiration instead of enjoying it. (The battle of perfectionism)
Perfectionism is often romanticized and looked upon as being synonymous to the behavioral traits of being a hard worker and productive, but when we are in a space of creativity it can be neglectful to our imagination and limiting to our expectations. Instead we should shift our perspective to excellency instead of seeking completeness in our developing stages. The importance of being present in our projects allow us to flow with transparency and vulnerability which is the the core of all connection. Inspiration is to be enjoyed and it is a luxury to have incentive.
- You need to change your environment.
Mundane rituals reduce abnormalities! I find that when we always have comfortable conversations, visit predictable locations and isolate ourselves we can’t truly explore! There is moderation to this, so though I do believe in seeking and broadening our vision and horizon of ideologies and perspectives, this doesn’t mean that all our principles and the dogma of our faith should be penalized (especially when we are still searching and challenging ourselves with coming into understanding). THAT BEING SAID, when we find ourselves stagnant in our inspiration it might be because we are lackadaisical in surprising ourselves. Even when learning ABOUT ourselves, it’s so much to still learn and we should make effort to come in contact with the unexpected. (Get out of of bed and your comfort zone. GET UPPP!π«)
- Too much instagram and other commentary social media and not enough Pinterest (Finding what YOU like)
Now, I am not anti-social media. But I have recognize that when it comes to commentary based social media apps it can be easier to be influence in what to say, think and tolerate. Everyone has an opinion and that is not mines to take away but it is important to heighten God’s voice within me and recognize what I am coming into agreement with, without mass public permission or harm to myself or others. Across all social platforms they bombard you with recommendations and content made “for you” through an “algorithm” and logically this might makes sense, until you allow the preferences in what they say you prefer become your first choice. Then it is no longer an algorithm it’s an ultimatum. The consequence may or may not be as drastic as other decisions (depending on the mood of cancellation culture..lol) but the commonality is a loss duality in individuality. That’s why I say a social media app that I have kept (since I am currently on a 10-month break from instagram) is Pinterest. They do have a comment section and they still can recommend pictures to your taste but I feel you still have freedom to first visualize, analyze and then if you want to… choose to comment. But creating pins and building a Pinterest board is personalize by your own decision. Without the loudness of the world. What do you find beautiful?
- Gratitude
“All you have is all you need! Thank you for what is inside of me!” There is so much peace and power in a “Thank you” and “Amen!”. When appreciating the moment you are in, you can relish in bliss. It doesn’t have to be granted by anyone else, it can be admiring the trees and the breeze that takes you away. It can be the realization of today and the hope for tomorrow. It is the overwhelming presence that God is surrounding you and that He is infatuated with your entirety. That his mind is never beside you, always delighted to take thought of you as he walks with you. His grace is personified in who He is and who you are to Him. Inspiration is the love child of Gratitude.
- It is important now. (Drop your things and write it down!)
“It can wait…” is dismissive, mishandling and inappreciative to what is being gifted to you. Especially when it is constantly put on your heart beyond “common sense”. This epiphany, more than likely isn’t just for you (unless you make the idea just for you but even then God can use it). This vision could be the revelation for someone else, the outpour of someone else’s cry, the brightness in another’s person day, it can even be the reflective moment that encourages you to keep going before your breakthrough point. Writing it down makes it plain to see! Remembering and acknowledging whatever it is, whether painful or pretty, it is all PURPOSEFUL. I also believe that when you take time to do this it is considerate to yourself. It is a sign of valuing and finding the worth in your process of thinking and feeling. Cultivating that inner voice. Even if you aren’t a writer, I believe you should write it down, you don’t have to be a poet or author, you just need the conviction to trust that this is worth recording even if you don’t find it worth saying aloud. LIVE.LOVE.PRAY.WRITE!
- Mental health and Supplements to help with memory!
You might be someone reading this and be like, “how will I remember to do all this?” Maybe you are someone who is easily forgetful of things that pass your mind. Now, I am not a doctor and have no interest in the medical field otherwise I wouldn’t be a communications major, but I will suggest that If you have issues with memorization or struggle with keeping focus to start consuming vitamins that are suitable for you. I started to take Zinc intially because I was concerned that once I had removed my birth control that I would relapse into having terrible cramps and having acne breakouts on my face again but once I start doing some research I started to implanting Zinc as a daily vitamin. Keyword: RESEARCH. And one of the benefits of taking Zinc is improved focus and memory. There are other vitamins as well that boost your memory and focus such as Vitamin B12, Omega 3, Vitamin E and all that good stuff but again I ain’t your doctor so run that by them before you start popping these vitamins like they candy. (I do be getting the gummies though! π)
In conclusion, inspiration isn’t to be found… it is to be flourished into! Creativity is not measured by the outward praise of others, it isn’t even catered to the idea of the “success” of it. Inspiration is so much more and is founded in so many ways…
